Tsukiyomi is the Japanese moon god who ends up being sent by Amaterasu to the great feast that the goddess of plenty, Uke Mochi had cooked up.
He was curious to how Uke Mochi had made food. Tsukiyomi was too punctual and snuck into the kitchen to find out. To say the least, it was totally not what he had expected.
It was kind of appalling though.
Uke Mochi spit out fish from her mouth and broiled them. She hunted deers and all kinds of game that came out of her butt. She vomited up rice to feed the gods. The most awkward way of making food.
Tsukiyomi was not really impressed by her awesome magic fertility powers. It would have been totally better if he had no idea anyways (zemblanity I presume?). He went out from his hiding and slew the goddess into pieces with his sword.
Amaterasu was totally not impressed with Tsukiyomi for slaying the food goddess (they were sort of BFFs). Though she did make something interesting out of it, Amaterasu gathered the seeds left in the goddess’ body to later give them to Ninigi and his conquest of the land of Izumo and the silkworms to begin the art of weaving.
She also doomed the moon and sun to be separated for eternity as she swore to never see his face again.
